10X Rule: What Is It and How Can It Help You Reach Your Goals?

Individual success is often defined by others. Is success defined by a nice car, a good work-life balance, or a loft in a big city like Manhattan?

Even cultural definitions of success can lead to personal failure if we allow others to guide us in our decision-making processes.

Personal success begins with knowing what you really want from life.

Because, after defining your own personal, one-in-a-million dream, why would you settle for anything less than that? If you want to be successful, why not go all out?

The 10X Rule by Grant Cardone begins before it begins. Cardone, on the other hand, helps you discover what success means to you personally—and not just as an individual—before guiding you to success.

Your goals will change over time, and that’s normal. According to Cardone, achieving success in your early 20s may mean something completely different from achieving it later in life.

Why not make that success extreme at every step?

At the end of the day, the hard part is over. Already, you have a clear idea of what you want to achieve. Why not achieve what you want, but ten times more than you did previously?

Success Is Your Duty

I stopped casually awaiting success and started approaching it as a duty, obligation, and responsibility. That was a pivotal moment in my life.

So, what’s holding you back?

Some of the culprits are common, but they can be crippling

  • Procrastination
  • Insecurity
  • Inability to believe in oneself

Who will believe in you if you don’t?

You’re not encouraged to be average or even to win if you follow the 10X Rule! To be dominant is the goal.

It begins with “Competition is for sissies.” Another says, “Burn this place down.” This is more than a slogan. Cardone is a drill sergeant who inspires and guides you to break out of your comfort zone.

Only then, he argues, will you be able to succeed in anything you set out to do in your life, no matter how big or small.

What goals have you set in order to succeed? Good. Set them to a higher position.
One of the main reasons people don’t achieve their goals is because they set them too low at the beginning, Cardone writes.

In the world of The 10X Rule, self-doubt and fear have no place. Furthermore, you shouldn’t let the arrows and slings of others stifle your progress. Personal empowerment, yes, but also conquest is the guiding principle.

As well as taking responsibility for your actions, it’s a good thing to remember. It’s important to note that Cardone never encourages the reader with a bravado-filled speech. There is no “charge blindly and consequences are damned” mentality in The 10X Rule.

But Cardone’s approach to success is based on the idea that each of us is different. Successfulness means something different to everyone. Putting personal doubts and fears to the side is the point of the exercise.

And don’t listen to the naysayers either. Once you’ve achieved that, you’ll be motivated to work hard to achieve your goals in life.

So you’re going to go after your dreams ten times harder!

Before Admiration, There Is Criticism

A few years from now, Cardone writes, “the people who were putting you down will be praising your accomplishments.”

Perhaps you’ve reflected on the fact that you’ve been right all along. I wish I’d stuck to my guns and followed through with my plan. Fear, insecurity, and self-doubt impede our ability to act on what we know is right.

It’s even worse when others question our actions.

Uncertainty and fear can hold you back, but other people’s concerns can be even more debilitating. Everyone around you is looking out for your best interests.

When someone tells you, “You can’t,” it’s a devastating blow.

Put an end to holding yourself back by focusing on perceived weaknesses. Instead, focus on your strengths and take advantage of them. And use them to the fullest extent possible.

You’ll succeed if you dig in and seize massive opportunities, take risks, and go for 10X. You won’t succeed every time, but you will succeed at least some of the time. Failures will diminish as success increases. You’ll soon find yourself saying, “I believed in you from the beginning.”

Success: You’ll Get It Figured Out Eventually

Leaning into success is the key to success. There’s no doubt that The 10X Rule teaches you to overcome your fear of failure and achieve greater goals. “Do what you have to think and do to get to a point 10 times more satisfying than you ever imagined” is the rule itself.

In other words, it means looking for and accepting new opportunities and challenges in life. And it also means taking risks and persevering through failure until you succeed in your endeavors as well.

A conservative businessperson may find Cardone’s suggestions strange, but he’s got a plan to get there. The author actually encourages the reader to act in a reckless manner. It is not possible to achieve 10X activity levels by being cautious, says Cardone.

Is The 10X Rule For Me?

Do you think The 10X Rule is a motivational speech? Partially, yes. This is a good one from a professional.

In addition to the clichés, Cardone encourages you to think differently about opportunities and your own abilities. He offers advice on how to avoid common pitfalls in business.

For example, don’t underestimate the amount of money and effort required to achieve success. Going for a 10x improvement means putting in the work to make it happen.

There are exercises in each chapter to help you get into the right frame of mind. To help you on your journey to self-discovery, here are some exercises.

They help you see what’s holding you back and encourage you to engage with the book’s content more actively as a result of their guidance and encouragement. Alternatively, you can purchase The 10X Rule Workbook for a more in-depth experience.
